NBA Basketball: Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 7:00 pm (Little Caesars Arena)
The Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons meet Wednesday in NBA(championship rings for sale) action at the Little Caesars Arena.
The Washington Wizards could use a feel good victory after losing six of their last eight games. The Washington Wizards are averaging 113.2 points on 46.5 percent shooting and allowing 118 points on 47.3 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 23.5 points and 4.9 rebounds while John Wall is averaging 20.7 points and 8.7 assists. Otto Porter Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Markieff Morris is grabbing 5.1 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc and 75.6 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 36.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 40.4 rebounds per game. The Washington Wizards have lost six straight road games.
The Detroit Pistons(Detroit Pistons championship rings) could also use a win here after losing nine of their last 11 games. The Detroit Pistons are averaging 108.4 points on 43.5 percent shooting and allowing 109.5 points on 46 percent shooting. Blake Griffin is averaging 25.3 points and 8.9 rebounds while Andre Drummond is averaging 17.7 points and 15.5 rebounds. Reggie Jackson is the third double-digit scorer and Reggie Bullock is dishing 2.3 assists. The Detroit Pistons are shooting 32.7 percent from beyond the arc and 71.5 percent from the free throw line. The Detroit Pistons are allowing 32.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.9 rebounds per game. The Detroit Pistons have lost five of their last six home games.
The Wizards are 17-35 ATS in their last 52 road games, 0-6 ATS in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Pistons are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 home games, 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Eastern Conference and 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Wizards are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings and the underdog is 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings. The under is 10-3 in Pistons last 13 overall. The over is 5-2 in Wizards last 7 overall.
I'm not looking to back either one of these teams, as the Wizards and Pistons are both a mess. The Wizards have been downright awful on the road where they don't play a lick of defense, allowing 1119.9 points on 48.4 percent shooting. However, the Pistons have an even point differential at home and continue to have issues scoring the basketball(nba championship rings). The one edge in this matchup is we're getting free points with a Wizards team that's won five of the last seven meetings against the Pistons. So, while I don't want to be on either side, there's some sort of edge in the free buckets with Washington.
