MILWAUKEE -- After a six-week demotion to the minor leagues, Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Wily Peralta will get a second chance to show he has what it takes to stay in the big leagues when he starts Tuesday night against the Atlanta Braves at Miller Park.Peralta was Milwaukees opening day starter this season but never seemed to get on track. He was shelled for five runs (four earned) in just four innings of work and was 4-7 with a 6.68 ERA when he was sent down to Triple-A Colorado Springs on June 12.He didnt exactly wow anyone there, going 1/3 with a 6.31 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 10 starts, but after putting RHP Junior Guerra on the disabled list Monday, the Brewers made their move.Theres been some signs of some good things, manager Craig Counsell said of Peraltas time at Colorado Springs. He had a couple starts where the breaking ball was improved and he had a big strikeout start where the breaking ball was really good in a tough pitching environment. I think thats a key for him, is that theres some swing and miss in the off-speed stuff.Peralta knows he needs to make the most of his opportunity. It is a second chance, Peralta said. I spent almost two months down there, and every time you get this opportunity, you have to take advantage. I got the opportunity a few years ago, and I just took advantage, stayed here for a couple years. In five seasons with the Brewers, Peralta is 39-44 with a 4.32 ERA. Hes gone 2-1 with a 1.65 ERA in five career starts against the Braves, who will try to extend their winning streak to four games behind right-hander Tyrell Jenkins, who will make his sixth career start.Jenkins (1-2, 4.33 ERA) has posted a 3.81 ERA since making his first MLB start on July 6 but hasnt worked more than six innings in any of those outings.Im still getting better, said Jenkins, who was 6-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 14 outings including nine starts for Triple-A Gwinnett this season. Were all getting better. He went six his last time out, allowing just a run in three hits while walking four and striking out a pair in a 5-2 victory over the Pirates on Aug. 2 at Turner Field.I worked too hard to get through six, Jenkins said. Those four walks, again, is unacceptable. It makes me really mad that I keep giving free passes like that, but luckily I made some pitches and got some ground balls and escaped a little bit.... Im nowhere near where I want to be, but I had some luck on my side. My defense is always picking me up.The Braves are on a bit of a roll. Along with having won three in a row, theyve won five of their last six while winning two straight series and three of their last four.Since taking seven of nine contests against the Diamondbacks and Pirates, Milwaukee has lost five of its last seven contests. LONDON -- When Wladimir Klitschko fights Anthony Joshua for two world heavyweight titles in April, it will end an 18-month wait to restore his boxing reputation.Klitschkos career has been on hold since losing his IBF, WBA and WBO belts in a surprising defeat to Tyson Fury in November 2015. Two attempts at a rematch failed because of Furys personal problems, leaving the 40-year-old Klitschko in limbo after nearly a decade ruling the heavyweight division.I was not sitting back, doing nothing and drinking beer in the past year. I was training, preparing for the fight that never happened, Klitschko said Wednesday during a media event at Wembley Stadium, which will host the bout.I think this gave me, in a certain way after 26 years being active in the sport, a break I probably needed.Refreshed and with his motivation as high as the sky, Klitschko has been given a tough assignment on his return to the ring.In the Ukrainians absence and with Fury taking time away from boxing to deal with personal issues, the heavyweight belts have been scattered and Joshua is now regarded as the future star of the division. The British boxer has won all 18 of his fights since turning professional after winning the gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012. His most recent win was a thiird-round stoppage of Eric Molina in Manchester on Saturday, after which, the fight against Klitschko was finalized.ddddddddddddIt will take place at the home of English soccer on April 29, and around 90,000 spectators are expected. Joshuas IBF belt will be on the line, as well as the WBA `super title vacated by Fury.Joshua said a win will turn him from a champion to a legend. These are the fights that change the way people view you, he said. Im IBF champion of the world, but this is the start of a legendary campaign.Klitschko said it is a 50-50 fight. Our size, strength -- age is just a number. We have a competitive fight with two fighters with the same qualities, said Klitschko, who will be 41 when he fights Joshua. Its special and I dont know the next time a fight like this can happen.Joshuas trainer, Rob McCracken, said it will be the biggest test of his fighters career.Well see if hes got enough experience at that stage, said McCracken, who also trains Britains Olympic boxers. But his development has been fantastic. Hes moved quicker than any fighter Ive ever seen.He has speed, power, balance and grace, which lights the arenas up. ' ' '
